What does All Stars 100% Whey Protein Shake contain?
The protein content is a combination of ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate and contains the enzymes papain and bromelain in addition to glutamine, leucine and taurine. The powder is sweetened with sweetener and contains flavors for a particularly natural and delicious taste.
Whey protein - the production:
The processing of the starting raw material whey is decisive for the quality of whey protein. Processing is carried out using special manufacturing methods, usually using the »ultrafiltration process«, in which the protein is not heat-treated and is therefore not damaged in any way.
Fat and lactose are removed from the whey with the help of special ceramic filters. In a further processing step, the powder is instantised by spray drying, which ensures that the powder does not clump in liquid. A high-quality whey protein supplement can be recognized by the fact that the powder dissolves quickly and completely in liquid.
An ultra-filtered whey protein is considered to be the highest quality protein from whey, because the gentle processing process preserves the numerous natural protein components found in whey (alpha-lactalbumin, beta-lactalbumin, glycomacropeptides and immunoglobulins).
Whey protein - biological value:
When it comes to the various methods of determining protein quality, whey protein leads the way compared to other types of protein. The protein efficiency ratio (PER) and the biological value (BW) indicate how efficiently a dietary protein can be converted into endogenous protein. The PER of whey protein clearly exceeds the value of other individual proteins. To determine the biological value, whole egg protein is used as a reference protein with a BW of 100. With a value of 104, whey protein has the highest biological value of all protein raw materials.
In addition to a high PER and a high biological value, whey protein also has a particularly high content of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs = L-valine, L-leucine, L-isoleucine), which make up about a third of the muscle protein. Especially in the regeneration phase, large amounts of these amino acids are needed. Whey protein is therefore ideal for the protein supply immediately after training.
Why All Stars 100% Whey Protein?
The shake made from 30 g 100% whey protein powder and 250 ml water or 300 ml milk has around 115 kcal, only around 2 g carbohydrates (of which around 1.5 g sugar) and less than 2 g fat. In return, it provides a whopping 22-24 g of protein and more than 5 g of BCAA per serving.
The shake is ideal for use before training, at the end of an intensive training session or as small, protein-rich snacks throughout the day. Due to its low number of calories, it can be integrated into numerous dietary habits, whether reduced in calories or mixed with carbohydrates as a weight gainer.
Consumption recommendation:
Mix 30 g powder (1 measuring spoon = 1 serving) with 250 ml water or 300 ml milk in a shaker. Drink 1 shake daily (more if necessary), preferably with breakfast, as a snack, before or immediately after training. Keep out of reach of small children.
